01Nature of the service

Lotus Ayurveda provides online Ayurvedic consultations conducted by a registered Ayurvedic physician under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines (India, 2020). The service consists of an assessment, advice and a written care plan.

We do not dispense or sell medicines. Prescriptions name a formulation, which you obtain from a pharmacy of your choosing.

02This is not emergency care

The service is unsuitable for acute or emergency conditions. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, symptoms of stroke, thoughts of self-harm or any other emergency, call 112 or attend your nearest hospital immediately. Messages sent through this website are not monitored continuously.

03Not a replacement for your existing care

Ayurvedic treatment provided here is intended to work alongside conventional medical care, not to replace it. You should not stop, reduce or alter any prescribed medication on the basis of a consultation with us. Any such change is a decision for the doctor who prescribed it.

04Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete health information, including all current medication and supplements.
• Be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian present for the consultation.
• Attend at the scheduled time. The doctor waits ten minutes before a slot is treated as a no-show.
• Use the service for yourself, or for someone whose care you are lawfully responsible for.

05Limits of remote consultation

Physical examination, pulse diagnosis and certain clinical signs cannot be assessed remotely. Where these are essential to a safe assessment, you will be told and referred for an in-person examination. A remote consultation is inherently more limited than an in-person one, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

06No guarantee of outcome

No responsible practitioner guarantees a clinical result, and we make none. Individual outcomes vary with the condition, how long it has been present, adherence to the plan and factors outside anyone's control. Patient accounts published on this site describe individual experiences and are not a prediction of yours.

07Intellectual property

Content on this website — articles, illustrations, assessment questions and care plan templates — belongs to the practice. Your own care plan is yours to keep, share with other clinicians and use as you wish.

08Liability

To the extent permitted by law, liability arising from use of this website or the consultation service is limited to the fee you paid for the consultation in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

09Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
